Engineering Jobs: Which Career Path Should You Follow?
For students deciding on a major, new graduates looking for entry-level engineering jobs, and professionals with a background in engineering, there are a number of career paths to consider.
While aerospace engineering jobs are slated to decline slightly (2%) from now to 2024, it’s one of the more lucrative engineering specialties, boasting a median salary of $107K+. Biomedical engineering careers have the brightest outlook, with major growth of 23% anticipated by 2024.
Those searching for industrial engineering jobs or interested in working as a material engineer should be aware that both areas are currently experiencing minimal growth. There are more than 277K total mechanical engineering jobs across the US (the most of any on this list) and this discipline is expected to grow at an average rate of 5% from now until 2024.
