What You'll Get to Do: The selected individual will play a critical role in the design, development, and delivery of the program's network architecture. This position may be filled as a Principal Electronics Engineer or Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications for Principal Electronics Engineer: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree OR 1 year of experience with STEM PhD degree Expertise with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE) Understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast. Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS Ability to operate with considerable independence, and to self-identify/pursue long-term interests. Ability to communicate well, including proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent. On-site presence at San Diego Spectrum Center at least 50% Ability to travel 10% of the time. Must be a US Citizen CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal Electronics Engineer: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 8 years of experience; OR 6 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree OR a minimum of 4 years of experience with STEM PhD degree Expertise with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE) Understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast. Familiar with Windows, Linux, and VMWare configuration and troubleshooting. Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures. Experience with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2. Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services. Experience with Cisco Unified Communications/VoIP and VTC Experience with Cisco Modelling Labs (CML) or Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL). Salary Range: $110,300 - $165,500 Salary Range 2: $137,400 - $206,000 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
