Cates Engineering is a structural engineering consulting firm located in Gainesville, VA. We hold active licenses in 21 states and the District of Columbia. Our staff of 28 personnel includes 9 licensed professional engineers.

For the past 28 years Cates Engineering has maintained an engineering distinction in the construction industry for innovative, cost-competitive designs as well as responsiveness to unique project requirements / site conditions. Our extensive portfolio includes consulting / design work in mixed-use, commercial, residential, government, industrial and institutional buildings. We have substantial experience with all building materials (wood, concrete, steel, masonry and light gauge) and structural systems.
