Seakeeper was founded in 2003 for the purpose of researching, developing, and marketing motion control devices for boats under 70 meters. The founders are Shepard McKenney and John Adams. McKenney previously owned Hinckley Yachts and developed their innovative JetStick technology, a fly by wire control system for jet powered boats. Adams previously owned Maritime Dynamics, which under his leadership, became the world leader in motion control for high speed ships. From 2002 through 2007, McKenney and Adams, together with employees who were involved with their previous ventures, completed the research and development for the SEAKEEPER GYRO and began manufacturing and sales of the product in 2008. The Company’s headquarters are located in California, Maryland, USA which is about 55 miles (90 kilometers) south of Washington, DC. Seakeeper has Sales and Services Offices in Florida, USA, Italy and Singapore.   Seakeeper’s manufacturing and engineering facilities are located in Mohnton, Pennsylvania, USA. The Seakeeper campus encompasses approximately 90,000 SF of renovated brick factory buildings across multiple acres in an industrial site. This campus has been a manufacturing site since the turn of the century when it began as the premier textile machinery manufacturer in the country. Seakeeper has invested in significant expansion and modernization that has increased capacity to produce 5 Gyro models that exceed 100,000 man-hours per annum. More than 60% of Seakeeper’s capital tools are less than a year in service.
