Senior Design Engineer / Manager Colombus , OH About the Company - We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer Manager to lead and oversee a team of eight engineering professionals. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in engineering design, with a strong focus on fiber network infrastructure. This leadership role will be responsible for guiding the design team through all phases of project development, ensuring technical accuracy, timely delivery, and alignment with client expectations and industry standards. About the Role - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 8 design engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Oversee the planning, design, and delivery of fiber infrastructure projects across electric utility and telecommunications sectors. Ensure engineering designs meet client specifications, safety standards, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, and external stakeholders to support seamless project execution. Monitor workload and performance of the team, assigning tasks and ensuring quality and productivity standards are met. Develop and enforce best practices for engineering documentation, review processes, and quality assurance. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that impact design engineering. Provide technical leadership and strategic input for infrastructure expansion and service improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Telecommunications Engineering (or related field). 7+ years of engineering experience, with a strong background in fiber network design. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. In-depth understanding of fiber optic network planning, permitting, and construction processes. Proficiency with CAD tools, GIS systems, and relevant design software. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with utility or telecom clients is highly desirable. Must be on-site in Columbus, Ohio
