As a Mechanical Engineering Intern on our Material Characterizations team, you will play an active role in providing engineering support for new product development and sustaining engineering. You will be guided by an experienced mentor while you work with and create advanced technologies. This position will work onsite out of Westerville, OH, for the Fall of 2025 . Relocation assistance is NOT available for our internships. It is preferred that candidates are available full-time (40 hours per week). This internship is PAID.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical design in Solidworks for our various systems products, including those used for early-stage material characterization
- Use modeling software (ANSYS, MatLab, Solidworks, etc)
- Execute mathematical calculations in support of design
- Conduct experimental testing and analysis of new designs in a lab environment
- Apply and perform sustaining engineering techniques for current designs
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate bachelor's degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics or related discipline
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Familiarity with CAD software (Proficiency in Solidworks preferred)
- Ability to preserve the confidentiality of information, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to be both an independent worker and collaborator
