The Supplier Quality Engineer focuses on ensuring the quality of product and processes across multiple facilities, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. The role will Oversee and improve quality workflows across these manufacturing facilities while monitoring daily production quality.
Write, manage, and maintain work instructions, including training staff on updates and new procedures.
Monitor daily production quality; conduct product audits and verify compliance against specifications.
Address nonconformance issues, incorrect labeling, paperwork errors, and part mismatches.
Respond to and resolve machine downtime issues; coordinate with repair teams or management as needed.
Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.
Lead efforts to improve inspection and quality assurance processes.
Identify quality risks, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
Support dimensional layout verification and bracket location mapping.
Assist New Model teams in validating aftermarket components, tooling design, training, and documentation.
Track and report on KPIs, including defect rates, returns, rework, and customer complaints.
Conduct regular quality performance reviews and report findings.
Escalate quality concerns promptly and drive resolution in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Train production teams on quality procedures, new work instructions, and equipment.
Participate in quality and leadership development programs.
Act as a liaison between operations, suppliers, and internal departments.
Establish strong relationships with vendors to ensure component quality compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree - Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
Previous experience in manufacturing quality.
Familiarity with CAD software.
Hands-on knowledge of inspection tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
