Were currently seeking a highly motivated Civil Inspector located in Portland, OR .
Required Education:
- High School Diploma
Required Certifications/Licenses:
- ODOT General Construction Inspector
- OSHA 10
- Confined Space Entry Hazard Recognition and Evaluation
- Excavation/Trench Hazard Recognition and Evaluation
- Flagger Certification
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
- Understand requirements for concrete, asphalt and underground utilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of civil construction practices
- Knowledge of industry standards for safe construction methodologies and practices
- Ability to use following software: Adobe Pro, BlueBeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Office
Responsibilities:
- Inspect installation, materials and layout of work
- Communicate with client and contractors & other stakeholders to ensure contract requirements are being met
- Record and maintain accurate records and information regarding inspections and installations
- Stay in communication with contractors, engineers, architects and owners to ensure code compliance
- Execute in-person inspection visits
- Maintain record of daily work
Preferred Skills/Abilities
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, be self-directed
- Ability to read and understand plans, stationing, cross-sections, specifications, etc.
- Ability to calculate volumes, distances, quantities as related to construction projects
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unforeseen conditions aspects including safety, quality and change management practices
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when interacting with co-workers, contractors and others
- Ability to work alone and collaboratively as a team
Salary:
- $36.50 - $42.50/hr
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at managements discretion.
