SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONSUnder the general direction of the Supervisor Engineering Development, the Senior Development Engineer position is responsible for the development and engineering activities supporting repair operations in Coppell, TX. The development engineer will develop new test procedures, oversee the execution of these tests, provide testing status to internal or external customer, and collaborate with repair technicians or customers to resolve issues found during testing. In this role, you will be required to interact directly with customers from engineers to resolve urgent issues, implement a new process, and participate in remote training. Other duties as assigned.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESUnder immediate direction of the engineer supervisor, conducts end-to-end activities of new repair projects as related to product research, test plan development, testbed buildout, and hands-on training Collaborate with Supervisor TSC Production to manage and resolve escalated technical issues arising from operations, internal and external customersAssists repair technicians in troubleshooting new failures discovered during testing Collects test/repair data and performs Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) to determine the root causes as required. Actively collaborate to improve testing process, tools, and methodology Responsible for scheduled maintenance and calibration of customer-owned testers Creates, modifies, and maintains in an organized manner technical acceptance testing documents and test datasheetsDevelop test plan, test hardware and software through its development cycle, from requirement definition through deployment at TSC in Coppell, other Sagent locations or customer facilities. Work with Production team to ensure the test equipment required for production adheres to operational standards.Actively identify test readiness issues and optimizations through development phrase or test plan change process.Support day-to-day operation, including on-site or remote troubleshooting and debugging, both independently and in collaboration with engineers from customers or test equipment supplierCollaborate with Production Manager to manage and resolve escalated technical issues arising from operations, internal and external customers.Perform root cause analysis and assist technicians in troubleshooting new failures discovered during testing.Actively collaborate to improve testing process, tools, and methodology. Responsible for scheduled maintenance and calibration of customer-owned testers. Lead a small team to meet established project schedule and performance commitments.Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.KEY COMPETENCIES: Knowledge, Proficiency of Acquired Skills, Aptitude, CapabilityRelevant knowledge of telecommunications is a plusMulti-tasking in a demanding environment is highly preferredExcellent analytical and organizational skills are highly preferredAble to think outside of the box and apply non-standard test techniques where normal procedures do not fulfill testing needsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills Strong knowledge of MS Office applicationsMust be quality and detail oriented Must be able to prepare reportsMust have detailed knowledge on system testing methodsMust possess planning and project management skillsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience, Education, Certifications, SkillsBachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience (i.e., minimum of at least 5 years of experience if you do not have a degree)Experience in repair lab equipment and techniques is highly preferredHands-on testing and troubleshooting experience with wireless radio components such as digital/baseband unit, remote radio, point-to-point microwave, etc.Solid understanding of RF principles, wireless network infrastructure and data network protocolsExperience with 3GPP standards (FDD, TDD, 5G NR, LTE)Experience using RF test equipment tools (Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Network Analyzer, etc.) Experience with programing/scripting languages C#, Python or JavaScriptAbility to be flexible with job duties and scope of work Occasional travel to other Sagent locations or customer locations may be required PHYSICAL DEMANDS WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
