Purpose of Role: As part of our sales departments, the Application Engineer will collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to support business development, sales of products and aftermarket services while ensuring those customer requirements are met. This position is ideal

for individuals with a strong aptitude for commercial activities and customer service. This role includes customer interactions to interpret specifications, select products, and provide technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Proposals : Preparation of basic proposal documents using standardized Weir templates.

  • Costing Accuracy : Prepare cost sheets for various equipment offered by Weir. i.e. pumps, cyclones, valves, hoses, rubber-lined piping, and other rubber-lined products.

  • Technical Proficiency: Reviewing and interpreting technical specifications and selecting equipment to meet customer requirements. Providing technical support to customers and customer-facing sales team.

  • Customer Focused: Maintain p rompt communication. 24-hour turnaround time. Conduct regular site visits, at least one per quarter. Take the initiative and ownership of the task at hand.

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.

  • Bachelor of Engineering from an accredited university, with minimum 3 to 5 years of engineering experience.

  • Having attained or working towards P. Eng. designation.

  • Prior experience with roles involving applications, customer support, sales, or manufacturing environments is considered an asset.

  • Other mining or mineral processing education or experience will also be considered an asset.
