Mechanical Design Engineer

Automatic Handling International, Inc. has been supplying the Global Fortune 500 Consumer Products Manufacturing Industry as a worldwide Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of custom and patented handling and packaging systems since 1972.

Summary:

Design and develop patented and new OEM equipment and prototypes

Job Functions:

• Design custom machines utilizing SolidWorks for FEA analysis
• Design mechanical drive systems employing a variety of motor technologies
• Possess familiarity with industry practices related to drive system design and fabrication methods including laser and water-jet cutting, machining, welding, and heat treatment
• Assist sales with concept development
• Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and shop personnel during manufacturing process
• Create and maintain drawing packages to ASME standards
• Work overtime as needed

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology
• Significant experience in machine design
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable 3d modeling software
• AutoCAD experience a plus
