Summer Intern

Weyerhaeuser Company is looking for a Summer Intern to work with maintenance and/or operational departments at the Dierks, AR lumber manufacturing facility. As a paid Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with talented people in a high-tech manufacturing environment to solve problems and improve processes. Weyerhaeuser Interns perform real work that makes a difference in our business. We offer mentoring, training, development & growth opportunities. Internships are 2-3 months, depending on your schedule and the company needs. You will work independently and in a team setting at our technologically advanced lumber manufacturing facility.

The Dierks Lumber operation is a random length sawmill primarily producing lumber up to 20 feet in length.

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Computer Science
• Environmental Engineering
• Construction
• Business

Key Functions:

Intern roles and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Resolving a manufacturing issue by leading a mill trial (writing the trial pan, coordination, data analysis, communicating the results and report writing)
• Participation in a capital or maintenance project team
• Maintaining level of preservation of mill infrastructure
• Assisting mill process owners in optimizing process economics and process controls
• Working with team managers to improve operational performance
• Other duties/projects as assigned

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Be currently enrolled in, or have graduated from, a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university
• Be able and willing to work a flexible schedule (sites operate 24/7)
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Compensation: Pay is competitive and based on class standing and major.
